Wearables for Cardiometabolic Health in the Era of GLP-1s
On October 20, 2025, CDH convened leaders from academia, healthcare and industry to discuss how wearable technologies can support cardiometabolic health in the era of GLP-1 therapies. As these medications reshape the treatment landscape for obesity and metabolic disease, participants explored the opportunities and potential challenges attending the use of digital tools to improve adherence, sustain behavior change, generate new evidence, and expand equitable access to care.
This report captures key insights from the workshop, including how wearable devices and other digital health technologies can provide continuous insight into health behaviors and outcomes, support patients between clinical encounters, and generate new forms of evidence for research and care delivery. Discussions also examined the evidence and infrastructure needed to support broader adoption of digital health tools, including validation of wearable-derived measures, integration of data across healthcare and consumer technology ecosystems, and the development of shared standards for the use of patient-generated data.
